An exciting explosion of flavours and textures, Cassata is everything a dessert should be. A classic Sicilian treat consisting of layers of gelato with cake, nuts, fruit and liqueur. At Delizia we start with freshly baked sponge cake soaked in our home distilled liqueur. This is then wrapped in a thick layer of creamy gelato with almond praline and glace fruits of the season. Layers of dark chocolate and creamy strega gelato complete the indulgence. Our Cassata comes sliced and ready to enjoy. Serve it after dinner with a sweet sticky wine and strong black coffee.
Express your love by serving Baci (Italian for 'kisses'), a delightful marriage of chocolate and hazelnut flavours. Our Baci handmade dessert is constructed using a hemisphere of hazelnut gelato perched atop a second hemisphere of our decadent dark chocolate gelato. The resulting round is then rolled in hazelnuts that we have toasted to golden and finely crushed. Add a luscious Frangelico laced dark chocolate sauce for a divine dessert to share with your beloved or in the pleasure of your own company.
The ultimate indulgence. Tartufo ('truffle' in Italian) is a ball of rich dark chocolate gelato we prepare with a surprise centre of real maraschino cherry. We then smother it in a coating of crunchy toasted almonds combined with rich chocolate cocoa powder. Serve Tartufo with sliced fresh strawberries and a glass of your favourite fruit liqueur.
